Sam Huldi (2000, CH)

The road back to Marathon.

Samuel Huldi’s journey is one of passion, discipline, and unwavering resilience. After transitioning from football to running in 2019, he quickly became one of the most committed athletes we have ever seenof. Balancing 150–180 kilometers of weekly training with a full-time job as an automation technician, Samuel chased his dream with relentless focus: breaking the 2h25 in marathon.

In April 2024, he achieved that goal—running 2:24:31 at the Zürich Marathon. It was a moment of triumph, the result of years of dedication and commitment. Yet that same day brought heartbreaking news: the passing of his coach and our dear friend, Adrian Lehmann, was announced shortly after the race…

“Setbacks don’t define us—comebacks do. Every step forward is a tribute to the fire that never went out.”

In the following sad and difficult months, that successful running journey was interrupted by a tough knee injury. For someone who lives by routine, effort, and progress, stepping away from training was a big challenge. But setbacks are part of every athlete’s path—and Sam chose to face his with courage.

This year marks the beginning of his comeback. After more than a year of quiet resilience within Doctors and Rehab, Sam pinned on a race bib again and rediscovered the joy of running fast through the crowded streets of Lugano. His smile said it all: the fire is still there.

Step by step, he’s rebuilding—physically, mentally, and emotionally. The next milestones are already set: 7.5K Langenthal Stadtlauf in November, 10K Valencia in January, and beyond. The long-term goal remains unchanged: a competitive marathon comeback in 2026.

This comeback is also a tribute. In this new chapter, we carry the spirit of Adrian Lehmann—Sam’s former coach and a driving force behind the WinTheDay project. Adrian’s guidance, energy, and belief in the team continue to inspire us. We miss him deeply, and we honor him by pushing forward with the same passion he instilled in us.

Sam’s journey is more than a return to form. It’s a reminder that true strength is forged in adversity—and that comebacks are built not just on talent, but on heart.

Train smart. Keep going, Sam. The road to 2026 starts now.
