NOAH COLLIOUD (2009, CH)

Road to EYOF 2025 – THE RESTART

Noah is a young athlete from the TV Welchenrohr Club and since he was about 12 has a clear goal in his mind: starting at the Olympic Games in Brisbane 2032 as a middle-distance runner.

He kicked off last season with a bang, setting a new U16 Swiss indoor record over 1000m in 2:31.98. But what followed was a season of setbacks and personal deceptions. Despite his strong start, Noah struggled to meet expectations – no personal bests during the following outdoor season and he even missed to qualify for the indoor Swiss final this past winter after winning gold last season.

Noah could have hit bottom, but winner’s minds work different: he didn’t let defeat define him. Instead, Noah saw it as a wake-up call. “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.” He understood that competing against the bests is a privilege, and thus pressure is a prize. But it takes a different level of effort and commitment to be the best: you can’t win a tough race, if you don’t start by winning your days before.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.

THE RESTART

After the needed time for any young athlete to go through this process, rebuild confidence and get the motivation back, Noah is back to full commitment and hard training. With his long-term Olympic dream in sight, he’s broken it down into clear short-term goals. Noah has set himself a mission for this season and is getting ready to give his best shot soon: Qualifying for the EYOF (European Young Olympic Festival) in Skopje, Macedonia.

The challenge: just one spot for the fastest U18 Swiss athlete to earn in a single race: the 14. June in Meilen. Being Noah from the first year and right back from a difficult season, the bar is set high.

Whether he secures the spot or not, Noah’s motivation to keep growing with resilience will remain strong as next year brings an even bigger stage: the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), where the world’s best U18 athletes will come together to compete.

We support Noah by mentoring a winner mindset for his challenging journey and a self-commitment spirit as the base to success. The small but mighty team around, works hard every day to give him the environment he needs to perform at his best. We are sure that with the habits he is showing recently, he can become the best version of himself.

As we said in the previous post: “There are no impossible goals, but intrepid deadlines”. We still believe that he has got the talent, the willpower to work hard, the team-spirit of a leader and the motivation to reach something big. So, we keep cooking that winner’s recipe together and sincerely thank everyone contributing around Noah positively along the way.
